Monthly Partnerwork Class

This class teaches sensing hands and da lu (moving step sensing hands pattern) in the non-competitive spirit of Wolfe Lowenthal.
NB. This class is for students who have completed learning the solo form. If in doubt, ask me.

Cost - £5 per class.

The last Sunday of the month 10.30am - midday

 Started June 2018
Venue: The Gold Room, (ground floor), Centre for Science and Art, 13 Lansdown, Stroud, GL5 1BB
These are classes to begin to learn the partner work as taught by Wolfe Lowenthal in the spirit of  Cheng Man-ching's teaching.  In each class we will study the fixed step sensing hands pattern of Cheng Man-ching, and the moving step da lu patterns. In addition we will study other exercises that may aid our understanding of the physical and energetic content of these practices.

The attitude in which partner work is taught is  a meditative one, based in non-competition and non-aggression. The partner work may be considered to be a physical and energetic conversation, in which the 'desperate will to win' is overcome in aid of a study of what Wolfe Lowenthal has called 'the greatness of the chi.'

It is recommended that you wear comfortable loose fitting clothing, and flat soled shoes if you have them (tai chi slippers are ideal but not essential).
