Ongoing Classes in Stroud

Roy Wilson’s Classes

Currently I am concentrating on my own practice, and on teaching a small group of advanced students in a Thursday night class at the Centre for Science and Art in Stroud. This class runs from 7.00pm to 9.00pm. It covers the Cheng Man-ching short Yang form, Sensing Hands, Da Lu, the Cheng Man-ching sword form and fencing. It is a class for people who have experience in all those aspects of the Cheng Man-ching curriculum. If someone wishes to join this class (for all or a part of it) they need to contact me to discuss their experience. (Please note: this class will be closed for the Summer break during August and September 2024).

I am also teaching a small number of 1:1 hours for serious practitioners. Please contact me if you are interested.

New Beginners’ Class
Miriam Luckhurst, one of Roy’s senior students is currently teaching a Beginners’ Class on Wednesday evenings at the Centre for Science and Art in Stroud. Miriam has studied Professors Cheng’s tai chi with Roy for about 7 years. She previously studied Cheng Man-ching tai chi in London. Please use the Contact page on this website to find out more about this class.

In each class we will begin with some warm ups based in qi gong, and then learn the form.

It is recommended that you wear comfortable loose fitting clothing, and flat soled shoes if you have them (tai chi slippers are ideal but not essential).

When students have learned the Cheng Man-ching form their practice can be deepened by studying sensing hands and Da Lu (moving step sensing hands), as well as the Cheng Man-ching sword form and fencing.
